Yuni Garden is the largest herb garden in Japan that comes complete with old manors and long vistas. With thoughtful landscaping presenting a well-manicured garden, it contains 230 kinds of herbs in 10 gardens. The garden also has a farmer’s market where you can buy fresh produce.

Highlight:
There is a rather surreal looking place in the woods near Mt Tokachi that MacBook owners will find strangely familiar. At the Biei Blue Pond, the sight of the azure blue water juxtaposed with the sombre grey of the once-living Silver birch and Japanese larch trees is an extraordinarily mesmerizing one, which may explain the hordes of photographers it attracts.

Day 03 (Sun, 13 May)
