Arriving in Nagoya this morning, start your tour with a stroll at Tokugawa Garden. Built with the natural landscapes of Japan in mind, the garden features many elements such as a large pond, waterfalls, streams, rock arrangements and many flowers and plants, making it a pleasant spot for a relaxing stroll.
Opened by renowned ceramics maker, Noritake, the Noritake Garden is an oasis within their former factory grounds where visitors can enjoy both art and nature. Within the buildings are museums and galleries of Noritake’s ceramics along with other artworks, while the large gardens outdoors provide beautiful recreational spaces for a respite from the city.
Day 02 (Tue, 06 May’25)
Nagoya – Inuyama

Visit the highly unique Mosaic Tile Museum, Tajimi this morning where you will gain a newfound appreciation for these tiles. The largest producer of mosaic tiles in Japan, local volunteers spent years collecting tiles and items which would otherwise have been discarded to create an impressive collection housed in an equally striking structure.
Dive into the world of flowers later at the Gifu World Rose Garden, one of the largest rose gardens in the world with over 6,000 rose varieties and many other flowers growing in this sprawling facility. Admire the roses which are coming into bloom at this time along with seasonal flowers like irises and magnolias, and panoramic views of the garden and its surroundings from the 45m high Flower Tower.
Day 03 (Wed, 07 May’25)
Inuyama – Gifu – Inuyama

Nicknamed Monet’s Pond for its resemblance to Calude Monet’s “Water Lilies”, this peaceful pond next to Nemichi Shrine boasts turquoise waters scattered with water lilies, just like the paintings. The addition of colourful carp swimming in its clear waters make it extra picturesque, especially when the water lilies are in bloom.
Afterwards, take part in a cooking class where you will learn how to make some healthy dishes. Japanese cuisine is known for being among the healthiest in the world thanks to its emphasis on natural quality ingredients, fermented foods, and healthful preparations. Add some of these healthy dishes to your repertoire and savour the fruits of your labour for lunch!
Take a walk around some of the icons of Seki City after lunch and learn more about this humble city recognised as one of the world’s three major cutlery producers. With a history of blade-making dating back to the 13th century, beginning with samurai swords and transitioning to kitchen knives and other cutlery, find out how blade making has shaped the city into what it is today. You will also have the chance to pick up some Seki-made cutlery on a stop at Seki Terrace.

Take part in a specially arranged Gifu Activity this morning and feel a little healthier for it. As a place surrounded by abundant nature, there is no lack of fresh air, fresh food, and natural environments to heal your body and soul. Experience a part of healthful living as you learn from the locals here.
You may find yourself bewildered by the artworks when you visit the Site of Reversible Destiny this afternoon. Located in Yoro Park, this experimental art park was developed over 30 years by internationally acclaimed architect Shusaku Arakawa and Madeline Gins. Made up of fascinating structures designed to bend your perception of reality, you will find that your perspective is not what it seems!
Day 05 (Fri, 09 May’25)

Take a gondola ride up Mt Hakodate in the afternoon for a panoramic view over Lake Biwa and the town below. Alongside the expansive view, the mountaintop also has many photogenic installations and seasonal flowers to make your visit more colourful.

This morning, explore the preserved castle town on the shores of Lake Biwa, Omihachiman, known for its network of canals which run through the town. Used for transportation of goods, as a castle moat, and a town divider in the olden days, it now serves a leisurely way to see the historical district of the former wealthy merchant town on boat cruises.
Set amid the open fields and mountains with even the building itself covered with grass, enjoy a relaxing tea time surrounding by nature at La Collina Omihachiman. The flagship store of renowned Japanese sweets maker, Taneya, and confectioner, Club Harie, you can enjoy the best of both worlds along with natural scenery at this one-of-a-kind café.
Day 07 (Sun, 11 May’25)
Lake Biwa – Osaka

Step into a different world at the Miho Museum this morning. Designed to be ‘a real-world Shangri-La’, this beautiful art museum in the mountains is an integration of man-made structures with the natural environment. Inspired by the ancient Chinese work, Taohua Yuan Ji, the museum displays a collection of artworks together with stunning architecture and the abundant nature which surrounds it.
Travelling onwards to Osaka, you will have some free time to explore the city this afternoon.
