Arriving into Tokyo in the late afternoon today, you will check in the hotel and have some free time to explore Tokyo. Remember to have a good night’s rest as an exciting journey awaits the following day!
Day 02
Haneda - Chitose - Furano

Rolling pastoral landscape under sunny blue skies is one of the key images that comes to mind when Hokkaido is mentioned. Shikisai no Oka is one such field filled with rainbow-coloured flowers amidst the Biei hills. You can enjoy glorious views of various seasonal flowers from the month of May all the way to October. A short distance away, you will see the Biei Blue Pond which owes its stunning colour to natural minerals dissolved in the water. Before heading to your hotel tonight, do not miss the opportunity to try the delicious sweets from Furano Delice, a lovely café located atop a hill. The cakes and snacks are all made with premium ingredients such as locally-produced Furano milk and Hokkaido cheese.
Day 03
Furano - Abashiri

Formed by the Ishikawa River’s relentless path through the Daisetsu Mountain range, Sounkyo is one of Japan’s largest canyons. Out of all the waterfalls here, Ginga & Ryusei are the two most beautiful and the staggering sight of water thundering down the unforgiving 90 metre rocky cliffs is truly unforgettable. Moving on in the afternoon, you will visit a unique museum, Cha Cha World – Museum of Worldwide Wooden Toys. Inside, it features the incredible “Seiji Fujishiro Koropokkuru Shadow Gallery" by master shadow artist Seiji Fujishiro. 30 small shadow pictures and 31 large murals are displayed in a dark space to give the fantastic hues of the murals a magical aura. On the 2nd floor of the museum you can find elaborate wooden block displays and a play area where you can build your own wooden sculpture.
Day 04
Abashiri - Shiretoko

Lake Mashu is known as “Kamuy-tou” to the Ainu people, which means “Lake of the Gods” in the Ainu language. It is a caldera lake that has one of the clearest waters in the world. Dominated by sheer cliffs of over 300 metres in height all around the lake, this has to be one of Hokkaido’s most breath-taking sights. Before going to your hotel, you will have time for an outdoor geography lesson at Mt Iou. With yellow sulphur dotting the barren landscape and the ever-present scent of sulphur permeating the air, this is a sight not to be missed.
Day 05
Shiretoko

Hokkaido is well-known for the beauty of its landscapes and Shiretoko is one of the last pristine wilderness left in Japan. One of the crown jewels of this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the Shiretoko Five Lakes. Formed long ago by volcanic eruption, these five lakes look whimsically like a god’s handprint. To protect the fragile ecosystem of the surrounding virgin forest, an 800-metre, wooden elevated boardwalk was built to allow you to enjoy views of the Shiretoko First Lake, Sea of Okhotsk, and soaring mountains. Moreover, you can take the Shiretoko Cruise later on to enjoy the breath-taking scenery of this amazing natural site.
Day 06
Shiretoko - Lake Akan

Heading down to the Lake Akan area today, you will find Nakashibestu along the way, a town that boasts the largest salmon catches of the nation. Visit the "Salmon Park" and see the largest number of salmon species on display! As the area is also fondly known for its dairy products, you should take some time to taste the La Laiterie Yogurt made from fresh local milk. The products here are all freshly hand-made and range from yogurt drinks, yogurt ice cream, yogurt gelato to other non-yogurt items. If you arrive at the hotel early today, you will be able to enjoy the fantastic hot springs in Akan. Pamper yourself in the variety of hot spring baths the hotel has to offer. Do not forget to try the “Hot Stone Sauna” for a unique experience!
Day 07
Lake Akan - Tokachigawa

Lake Onneto is first up today and its water changes colour depending on sunlight and temperature, going from a gleaming bottle green to a deep azure. Be introduced to the warmth and passion of the people of Tokachi on our Tokachi Activity Day. This special day was introduced a few years ago and was a real hit with our holidaying crowd. Before going to Sapporo today, you can spend some time in Otaru. Otaru is famous for its sushi street that houses unpretentious sushi restaurants with only the freshest seafood as their ingredients. With a rich history that dates back to its early days as a major herring centre and the terminal station for Hokkaido’s first railroad, Otaru’s charming buildings now houses whimsical music box museums, patisseries with absolutely-tempting cream puffs and also those selling intricate glassware ornaments.

Sapporo

Every holiday requires a free and easy day. Take some time to do your necessary shopping at the countless shops lining Sapporo city both above and underground!
