Singapore – Haneda – Kochi
(-/Lunch/Dinner)
Hotel: Hotel Nikko Kochi Asahi Royal or similar
The first stop upon arriving in Kochi will be one of its amazing natural sights, Ryugado Cave. Formed over roughly 175 million years, it is one of Japan’s most famous limestone caves and a designated natural monument and historical site. Stalactites and stalagmites fill the 4km long cave which bellies a few waterfalls and prehistoric artefacts as well.
Head to Kochi Castle next to see one of Japan’s 12 preserved original castles. Built in the 1600s, Kochi castle is the only castle to have had all its main buildings preserved, giving an accurate representation of an Edo period castle. Surviving natural disasters, the war, orders for disposal and the passage of time, it is no wonder that this castle is considered the “castle of fortune”.

Head out to sea for a fishing experience in Tosa Bay this morning. After the hard work of catching and preparing the crabs, enjoy a sumptuous seafood lunch with your new fishermen friends!
Work off your lunch with a walk through Nakatsu Valley this afternoon. The gorgeous valley is one of Shikoku’s best watersides and where rock formations, waterfalls and azure pools hide. The mesmerising Niyodo Blue, a colour reflected by the crystal-clear waters of the Niyodo River flowing through the gorge, can be fully enjoyed as you walk along the stream and admire the wonderous natural scenery.
Day 03 (Sat, 19 Oct’19)
Kochi – Iya
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Hotel: Iyabijin (Private Hot Spring) or similar
Do some fruit picking today at one of Kochi’s many fruit farms! Known for its citrus fruits, the prefecture’s long daylight hours and generally warm climate make it an ideal place to grow them. Try some of the more unusual citrus fruits today such as finger lime, the “caviar of the forest”, and buntan, a grapefruit-like pomelo.
A narrow ravine created by the flow of the Yoshino River over 200 million years, Oboke Gorge is a Natural Monument surrounded on both sides by impressive rock formations carved out by nature. Take a ride on a sightseeing boat where you can leisurely admire the wonderous rock formations pointed out by the boatman as you sail down the emerald river.
The Kazura Bridge is not one for the faint-hearted. Stretching 45m across the Iya River flowing 14m below, the bridge is one of few remaining vine bridges left in the valley. Traditionally constructed using only vines, the suspension bridge is now reinforced with steel cables hidden inside the vines, but still provides an exhilarating experience for those who dare to cross it.

For those not inclined to go all the way to the top, there are many shops and restaurants along the way to keep you occupied.
The most famous attraction in Takamatsu, Ritsurin Garden is a Place of Scenic Beauty considered by some to be one of the best gardens in in Japan. The large garden consists of a Japanese and Western style garden filled with ponds, pavilions and carefully curated landscapes against the borrowed scenery of Mt Shiun in the background.
