Kenrokuen has to be the most recognisable icon of Ishikawa. As one of Japan's top three most beautiful gardens, Kenrokuen certainly lives up to its reputation with winter sprinkling the garden features in a magical layer of white, like icing sugar on a cake. Here in Ishikawa you can also partake in the quintessential Japanese experience of Chado or tea ceremony. In the afternoon, you will visit Higashi Chaya. Since the Edo period, a chaya or teahouse is a traditional place where geisha can be found entertaining guests with their traditional song and dance. Over here, beautiful two-storied wooden houses reminiscent of a time gone-by have been meticulously maintained and are now home to gift shops selling local specialties like gold leaf products, green tea and traditional Japanese sweets.
Day 02
Kanazawa
(Coach: Breakfast/Lunch/-)
Hotel: Hotel Nikko Kanazawa or similar
The morning will start with a visit to Shirakawa-Go. Here in this UNESCO World Heritage Site are unique gassho-zukuri farm houses that are shaped like "a pair of hands in prayer". With steep thatched roofs that are built entirely without nails, the slanted roofs are designed to withstand the large amounts of heavy snow that falls in this region during winter. Their large attic space were ingeniously used for the cultivation of silk worms. Next, is our specially-organised Nanto Activity Day. Travelling deep into the Japan Alps, you will have the unique opportunity to interact with the locals in a warm, cosy setting. Complete your Kanazawa must-visit places with the Omicho Market. The market was established way back in the 18th century and today, there are over 170 stores squeezed under one rowdy roof, selling some of the freshest seafood from the Sea of Japan, and other seasonal and local produce from surrounding mountains.
Day 03
Kanazawa – Yamashiro Onsen
(Coach: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Hotel: Yunokuni Tensho (Hot Spring) or similar

What follows is a visit to the world's largest Origami Museum. Here you will find over 100,000 origami items including prize winners of various international origami competitions. Peer through a microscope to see the world’s tiniest paper crane, smaller than the tip of a single hair! Despite it being winter, you will still be able to indulge in a spot of fruit-picking over at Kaga Fruit Land. Sweet, tart, and refreshing strawberries are waiting on their vines, ready to be savoured before you head to your hotel later in the day.

The rocky coastline has been carved out by the waves, leaving deep chasms and precipitous bluffs that tower up to 30 meters above the waters below. The coarse, pillar-shaped rocks that resemble bundles of hexagonal and pentagonal rods are a unique geological formation that can be only be seen in three places in the world and nowhere else in Japan. End your day on a high note at the Fukui Dinosaur Museum - one of the world's best dinosaur museums and the largest of its kind in Japan.
