Begin your holiday by treating your stomach to one of Nagoya's specialties, Hitsumabushi. This famous eel rice bowl is commonly enjoyed in 4 ways - on its own, with condiments, soaked in broth, and however you like!
Afterwards, walk off your lunch at Nagoya Castle. Constructed in 1612, the castle contains an informative museum with exhibits of artefacts handed down as Important Cultural Assets. See the Kinshachi, golden dolphins iconic to the castle, and stroll around the castle grounds.

Step into the world of ji-kabuki this morning as you go behind the scenes at a ji-kabuki theatre. A form of kabuki, a traditional Japanese theatrical art, ji-kabuki is performed by local amateur actors and supported by the community. Get a glimpse of the workings of the theatre and perhaps you might be able to see a ji-kabuki performance too!
For lunch, enjoy the flavours of autumn highlighting one of the area’s favourites, Japanese chestnuts. Used in a variety of dishes along with other seasonal ingredients, you are sure to enjoy the chestnut themed mini Kaiseki!

Experience a traditional, small town atmosphere today, first at Gujo Hachiman. This riverside town is known for its pristine waters and the many canals, fountains and waterways are still used for daily activities like washing vegetables. Stop by at the charming pocket parks where potable water is available, and find out about another of Gujo Hachiman’s claims to fame – food replica making.
Another of Japan’s charming traditional towns, Hida Furukawa in the mountains of Gifu is famous for the high quality of timber found there. During warmer months, colourful carp can be seen swimming in the canal flowing through town, lined by iconic white-walled warehouses on either side.

Take a trip up the Noto Peninsula and pay a visit to a Wajima lacquerware workshop where you can meet some of the craftsmen behind the exquisite lacquerware that Wajima is known for. Learn how each product is carefully crafted and perhaps pick up a few souvenirs to bring home.
Nearby are the thousand terraced rice fields of Senmaida, a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System and a Special Place of Scenic Beauty. Located on the side of a mountain facing the Sea of Japan, the rice fields are especially beautiful as the sun sets on the horizon beyond it.
Wakura Onsen – Kanazawa

Heading down to Kanazawa, take in the sights of the Chirihama beach driveway, the only beach in Japan which you can drive on. Cruise along the sandy beach as you watch the waves lapping the shoreline right next to you.
The “Kitchen of Kanazawa”, Omicho Market has been the go-to market in Kanazawa for centuries. Fresh seafood and produce are readily available along the narrow walkways of this indoor market, along with other household items and sundries.
Stop by at the icon of Kanazawa, Kenrokuen, one of Japan’s three most beautiful gardens. Gorgeous in every season, this sprawling hill-top garden contains all the features of a traditional Japanese garden and is very pleasant to stroll around, especially when painted in the red and golden hues of autumn.
Kanazawa – Komatsu – Haneda – Narita – Singapore

Make a stop at Natadera before heading back to Singapore later today. This 1,300-year-old Buddhist temple features multiple buildings that have been designated national Important Cultural Properties and Places of Scenic Beauty. Each autumn, the temple grounds are washed in shades of yellow and red and this place is easily one of the best spots for enjoying the autumn colours in Ishikawa.
