The Appi Kogen Ski Resort is Tohoku's largest ski resorts, adjacent to the Towada-Hachimantai National Park. It is considered one of the best quality ski resorts in Japan. The 282-hectare resort's north facing slopes keep the snow in top condition throughout the season. Located around 3.5hrs from Haneda Airport and the easiest way is to use JR Rail pass to ride the JR Hayabusa bullet train from Tokyo station.

The hotel is very conveniently ski-in ski-out. Night skiing is available from December to March and the resort is famous for its slopes, but it also has a great ranch, golf courses, tennis courts, soccer fields, sports club, hot springs, and others.

There's plenty to do in Appi Kogen Ski Resort aside from skiing or riding the slopes. Why not try your hand at snowmobiling, winter kids park, cat skiing and snow shoeing.

Appi comprises of a few lodges and hotels centered at the base of the mountain. Accessing the village on foot is easy as all amenities, services, accommodations, and ski lifts are a short walk away.
