Take a short flight over to the Masai Mara National Reserve this morning where you will embark on a special safari experience over the next few days. Home to over 95 species of mammals and 570 species of birds, the National Reserve boasts some of the most spectacular diversity of wildlife in the world, right at your doorstep at Olare Mara Kempinski Masai Mara!
In this period, you may have the chance to witness The Great Wildebeest Migration, touted as one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Over 2 million zebras and wildebeest migrate over to Masai Mara from the Serengeti, crossing expanses of terrain, including the Mara River where predators lay in wait. If you are lucky, you may catch sight of the unfolding drama of the migration on a game drive during your stay!

Immerse yourself in the safari experience with two free days to enjoy the plethora of activities available. Go on game drives with experienced guides in 4x4 vehicles both during the day and night, and look out for the many different species of wildlife which live here, including the big five – lions, African elephants, Cape buffalos, leopards, and black rhinos.
Explore the nature which surrounds you with guided nature walks, meals out on the savannah, horse rides and even hot air balloon safaris. Then take in the view from your accommodation with a relaxing dip in the pool, a scrumptious afternoon tea, and cocktails by the fireside. Delve into the culture of the local Maasai with a visit to the Maa Trust where you can meet the Maasai people and support their community.
Day 05 (Wed, 07 Aug'24)

Bid the safari goodbye today as you fly back to Nairobi and pay a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum, former home of the Danish author whose autobiography ‘Out of Africa’ inspired the Oscar-winning movie of the same name. Take a step back in time at the museum, restored to its original state, and gain a comprehensive understanding of Karen Blixen’s life and work amid the tranquil surrounds of beautiful gardens, lush forests, and Karen’s beloved Ngong Hills.
Following that, get up close with some giraffes at the Giraffe Centre. Home to around 10 Rothschild Giraffes, a subspecies found only in the grasslands of East Africa, the centre was founded by a non-profit organisation to educate people about the country’s wildlife and environment. Helping to conserve the giraffes, the centre also gives visitors the opportunity to interact with and feed the tallest mammals on earth.

This morning take a flight to Cape Town where your first stop will be the iconic Table Mountain. The flat-topped mountain which overlooks the city is a haven of flora and fauna with many species that can only be found here. Voted as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, the mountain is flanked by Devil’s Peak and Lion’s Head, creating an impressive mountain range. If weather permits, you will take a cable car up to the top of the mountain for some impressive views.

The mountain ranges and elevated areas of the Winelands create a great climate for producing fantastic wines and it is here that you can replenish your personal wine collection with fine South African wines. Take your wine enjoyment up a notch with a wine blending tour where you can create your own special blend of wine with the help of professional winemakers!
After lunch, spend some free time exploring Franschhoek, a valley surrounded by majestic mountains in the heart of the Winelands and the ‘food and wine’ capital of South Africa. Stroll along the charming streets lined with colonial-style buildings and pop into the many shops and specialist stores here.

Tour around Cape Peninsula today, the jewel of Cape Town with pristine beaches, rugged coastal scenes, and sparkling blue waters. Head down through the Atlantic suburbs, Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay to Hout Bay, a charming fishing village. Continuing down Chapman’s Peak Drive, you will be treated to one of the most spectacular coastal drives in the world. Travel down through the scenic Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and ascend Cape Point, the southernmost tip of the cape, for a stunning view of the coast. Stop by at Boulders Beach, home to a colony of cute African penguins, before passing through the old naval base of Simon’s Town.
Day 09 (Sun, 11 Aug'24)

Take to the skies in a short helicopter tour of Cape Town today! Get an aerial view of all the sights like the Green Point Stadium, the famous beaches of Clifton, the white sands of Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles mountain range.
Later, visit the famous Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden at the base of Table Mountain. Part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, over 2,500 species of South African plants can be found here. As you stroll through the different gardens and admire the varieties of plants, you will see why this is considered one of the best botanical gardens in the world.
Do some shopping afterwards at Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, a commercial, residential and entertainment district located in South Africa’s oldest working harbour. The myriad of shops, eateries, museums and more will keep you busy for hours!
End off your trip with a memorable dinner at Fyn, a fusion restaurant which will challenge your assumptions of contemporary cuisine. Awarded the title of Africa’s best restaurant and named one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2022, experience a gastronomic adventure with your final meal here.
