Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for flight to Kansai.

Day 01 (Sat, 10 Feb’24) 

Singapore – Kansai – Awajishima

Arriving in Kansai this morning, make your first stop at Rokko Garden Terrace. Located 880m up Mt Rokko, get a panoramic view of Osaka Bay and Kobe City from the unique observatory which combines the view with art and nature.
 
Following that, pay a visit to átoa, a combination of aquarium and art museum. Made up of themed areas, each displays marine life in fantastical settings of digital art and design to create magical worlds for visitors to experience.
 
In the evening, retire to your accommodation on the Luxury Floor Riraku at Awaji Yumesenkei. Enjoy use of an exclusive lounge and delectable meals topped with Japanese hospitality, followed by a relaxing soak in your in-room open air hot spring bath with views of the sea.

Day 02 (Sun, 11 Feb'24)

Begin today with beautiful flowers at Awaji Hanasajiki, a flower park with blooms in all seasons. In this period, colourful hoary stock flowers and bright yellow canola cover the fields. Enjoy the spread of flowers along with the panoramic view of the Osaka Bay laid out before you. 
 
Do some strawberry picking afterwards and get your fill of the sweet and tart fruit! Head into a strawberry farm where you can pick and eat all the fresh strawberries you want!

Day 03 (Mon, 12 Feb'24)

Awajishima – Himeji

This morning, enjoy some of the world’s greatest artworks all in one place at the Otsuka Museum of Art. This singular museum houses replicas of many representative works of art from masters such as Michelangelo, Monet, Picasso, and more.
 
Move on to The Kaikyo Distillery, producers of artisanal Japanese gin and whiskey. A branch off from Akashi Sake Brewery, the distillery combines traditional brewing knowledge with newer, western influences and a prime aging environment to produce the exceptional spirits you can find here.
 
Afterwards, drop by Uotana Market where fresh seafood from the Akashi Strait has been sold for over 400 years. Literally meaning ‘fish shelf’, you can find all kinds of fresh and processed seafood products at the roughly 110 stalls located along a 350m shopping arcade.

Day 04 (Tue, 13 Feb'24)

Himeji – Kinosaki Onsen

Known as the ‘White Heron Castle’, Himeji Castle is Japan’s most well-preserved castle and a UNESCO World Heritage Site and National Treasure. Having never been destroyed, the white-walled castle retains original historical elements and is considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in Japan. Next to the castle is Kokoen, a more recent Japanese style garden which contains 9 different Edo style walled gardens against the backdrop of Himeji Castle. Stroll among the gardens filled with traditional garden features designed to highlight the seasons. 
 
Toyooka, the “City of Bags”, has been making bags for over 1,000 years and is the largest bag producer in Japan. The quality of Toyooka Bags, or ‘Toyooka Kaban’, is maintained at the highest standard and recognised not only by the Hyogo Prefecture Bag Manufacturing Union, but by the national government. Take a walk along Caban Street lined with specialty bag stores and perhaps pick up a Toyooka Kaban for yourself!

 

Day 05 (Wed, 14 Feb'24)

Kinosaki Onsen – Kyotango

Today’s lunch will be a feast of Taiza Crab, a rare and succulent snow crab prized for its exceptional flavour. Known as the ‘phantom crab’ due to its scarcity, only snow crabs caught in an ideal environment off the shores of Kyotango by licenced boats and which meet stringent criteria are branded as Taiza crabs.
 
Later, learn the secrets of Tango Silk, a top quality silk produced with utmost skill in the Tango area for over 1,300 years. A highly regarded product with about 70% share of Japan’s silk industry, learn about the complex methods used to weave quality silk and how original Tango Chirimen silk is made.
 
Relax and unwind at your seafront accommodation at Hanare Kai this evening. Shaped to resemble a ship, this spacious all-inclusive ryokan combines a traditional atmosphere with modern comforts. Dine on kaiseki meals of fresh local ingredients and enjoy a relaxing soak in your private hot spring bath as you gaze out to sea.

Day 06 (Thu, 15 Feb'24)

Kyotango

Visit one of Japan’s three most scenic views at Amanohashidate today. A meandering pine tree-covered sandbar connecting both sides of the mouth of the Miyazu Bay, Amanohashidate is known as the ‘bridge to heaven’. See how this name came about by adopting the best viewing posture of ‘matanozoki’ – standing with your back to the bay, bending over and looking at the sandbar upside down from between your legs! 
 
Later, head over to the small town of Ine, located in a bay between the mountains and Sea of Japan. Famous for its unique boathouses known as ‘funaya’, the area has been awarded a two-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide. The traditional two-storey funaya are built on the edge of the water where the first storey serves as a boat garage while the second storey contains living and work spaces. Take a cruise around the bay and admire the picturesque boathouses from the water before taking in the scenery from the shore at a funaya-inspired café.

Shop to your heart’s content at the Kobe-Sanda Premium Outlets. The largest mall in the Kinki region, you can find everything from luxury goods to daily use items here. With both local and international brands available, shop for your favourite items at outlet prices before heading to Osaka this afternoon.

Enjoy a free and easy day in Osaka today! Known as the Kitchen of Japan, the rich food culture in Osaka is guaranteed to keep your stomachs filled with gastronomic delights, whether in the form of street favourites or fine dining. Lose yourself in the countless shopping and dining options at Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori, Osaka Station City and Umeda, and make your way round to some of its famous sights.
